Training Support Center

The HSW team was responsible for full A/E services for the 100% Design of a new 84,500 square-foot training service center at Ft. Bliss in El Paso.  HSW was responsible for the design team, including subcontractors, in the preparation of complete design packages from design charrette through ready to advertise (RTA) packages. This TSC is part of a larger complex of other support and training buildings, some of which have been designed by HSW.

This project provides space for administration, Training Aids Devices Simulators and Simulation (TADSS) storage, a high bay warehouse suitable for forklifts, classrooms, and a Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) Close Loop Support (CLS) maintenance area. The facility is heated by a self-contained heating system, and all but the warehouse area is air-conditioned. Facility has a fire protection system, installation of Intrusion Detection System (IDS), Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) connections and building information systems. Supporting facilities include: military van parking area, all required utilities, perimeter security fencing, site improvements, and information systems.

The TSC facility consists of a large Warehouse space to house storage shelving for training aids and Administration/Service space.  The Warehouse is 58,000 SF and is designed to accommodate future expansion.  The Administration/Service space consists of multiple service and storage areas and a vault.  Included are two E.S.T. Training rooms, Administrative area with space for 9 cubicles and 2 private offices, Issue Room, large Break Room, Communication room, General Purpose Classroom, CFFT, CLS Room, Restrooms, and associated mechanical and electrical rooms.
